Spare magazines let you train longer, load ahead and keep a backup when one magazine gets damaged. Almost all magazines here are original CZ magazines made in the Czech Republic, so they fit and feed the way the factory intended. You can get magazines for the CZ Bren 2 and for CZ rimfire and centrefire rifles. Position 7 adds a competition aluminium magazine for the CZ 457.

Shared magazines

The CZ 457, CZ 455 and CZ 512 share the rimfire magazines in .22 LR and in .17 HMR and .22 WMR. The compatibility list of the .22 LR magazines also includes the CZ 453 and CZ 452. On the CZ 600, one magazine often covers several calibres, for example the .308 Win magazine also takes 6 mm Creedmoor and 6.5 mm Creedmoor.

Capacity and calibre

The calibre and the capacity are in the name of every magazine. Check both before you order, because a .22 LR magazine will not work in a .22 WMR rifle. For example:

  • Bren 2: 10 round magazines in 5.56x45 and 7.62x39.
  • CZ 457 .22 LR: 5, 10, 15 or 25 rounds, or 13 rounds in the Position 7 aluminium magazine.
  • CZ 457 .17 HMR and .22 WMR: 5 or 10 rounds.
  • CZ 527: 5 rounds.
  • CZ 557: 4 or 10 rounds in .243 Win and .308 Win.
  • CZ 600: 5 rounds in most calibres, 5 or 10 rounds in .308 Win.

Some shooting ranges or local rules limit the magazine capacity. Low capacity versions help you stay within these limits.

Materials

  • Steel magazines are used for the CZ 527 and CZ 557 and for some CZ 457 and Bren 2 magazines. They are strong and resist wear.
  • Polymer magazines are used for the Bren 2, CZ 600 and most rimfire magazines. They are light.
  • Aluminium is used for the Position 7 competition magazine for the CZ 457.

Competition magazine for the CZ 457

The Position 7 13 round aluminium magazine for the CZ 457 in .22 LR is CNC machined from 7075 aluminium. It gives you 12+1 rounds, the usual capacity for PRS rimfire stages, and it has witness holes for every round. Its straighter shape sticks out less at the front, which helps on bags and barricades, and makes the front magazine release easier to reach.

Magazine parts and accessories

You can replace a worn magazine spring in your CZ 457 magazine with an original CZ spring for 5 or 10 round magazines in .22 LR, or for 10 round magazines in .17 HMR and .22 WMR. The Position 7 empty chamber indicator goes into the magazine well instead of a magazine. It stops the bolt from closing and shows everyone around that the rifle is empty. For CZ 457 base pads, see CZ 457 base pads.

Frequently asked questions

Do CZ 457 magazines fit other CZ rimfire rifles?

Yes. They fit the CZ 455 and CZ 512, and the compatibility list of the .22 LR magazines also includes the CZ 453 and CZ 452. Choose the magazine for your calibre.

Which magazine capacity should I choose for my CZ?

It depends on your discipline and local rules. For training and most sport shooting, choose the standard or the largest capacity for your model. If your range or competition limits capacity, choose a smaller version where one exists.

Are these original CZ magazines?

Yes, almost all of them. All magazines except the Position 7 aluminium magazine for the CZ 457 are original CZ magazines.
