A red dot mount lets you put a red dot on a CZ that has no Optics Ready cut. On most CZ pistols the mount replaces the rear sight in its dovetail cut, so you need no milling and no gunsmith. On rifles and shotguns the mount sits on a Picatinny rail. You can choose mounts from EGW, Toni System, Outer Impact, KMR, Zendl, Eemann Tech, Shield Sights, Contessa, Vector Optics, Holosun, Olight, C-More, Gunexpert and Ascalon Arms.
Mounts for your pistol
A dovetail mount must match the rear sight cut of your pistol. Some CZ models share the same cut. The CZ 75B, CZ 75 SP-01, CZ 75 P-01 and CZ 75 Compact take the same mounts. The Shadow 2 and the CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow share their mounts, and the TS 2, TS 1 and Shadow 2 Target share theirs. Open the collection for your pistol:
If your CZ is Optics Ready, you do not need a mount. Your red dot sits on a plate in the slide cut, see Optics Ready plates.
Choose the mount by the footprint of your red dot
The footprint is the pattern of screws and recoil lugs on the bottom of a red dot. A mount has a footprint on top, and it must match your red dot. The footprint is in the name of every mount. You find mounts for the Trijicon RMR, Shield RMSc, Holosun K-series, Leupold DPP, Docter, C-More RTS, Holosun 509T and Aimpoint Acro footprints.
Universal mounts accept several footprints. The Toni System type A accepts Shield RMSc, Leupold DPP and Docter. The Toni System type B accepts Trijicon RMR, C-More RTS and the older Toni System footprint. The Outer Impact type C accepts Trijicon RMR, C-More RTS and Docter. The EGW and Outer Impact type S mounts accept Shield RMSc, Holosun K-series and Leupold DPP. A universal mount is a good choice if you may change your red dot later.
Steel or aluminium
Steel mounts come from KMR and Zendl. Steel is strong and wears slowly in the dovetail. Aluminium mounts come from EGW, Toni System, Outer Impact and Eemann Tech. They are lighter, which matters on a moving slide. The Shield Sights mount for the P-07 and P-09 is made of brass and polymer.
Side mounts for the TS 2
On the TS 2 you can also mount a red dot on the side of the frame. A side mount replaces the thumb rest, so the red dot does not move with the slide. Toni System makes side mounts for the Trijicon RMR footprint and a universal side mount. KMR makes a steel side mount for the TS Czechmate and TS Orange for C-More SR, ASR, ASRS and CSR red dots. You can combine the side mounts with a matching thumb rest and charging handle from the same maker.
Picatinny mounts for rifles and shotguns
If your gun has a Picatinny rail, you can choose from Picatinny red dot mounts:
-
Flat mounts from Holosun, Olight, C-More and Vector Optics.
-
Mounts with a raiser from Olight and Vector Optics, from 19 mm to 32 mm high. A raiser lifts the red dot so you can see it with your head up, for example over a magnifier or on a rifle with a tall stock.
-
QD mounts from Contessa in steel. They lock with an auto safety and you mount them without tools.
-
Adjustable co-witness mounts from Outer Impact. You set the height so the red dot lines up with your iron sights.
-
45 degree offset mounts from Outer Impact. They put a red dot next to your scope, so you can switch from scope to red dot by rolling the rifle.
Outer Impact makes these mounts also for the Aimpoint Micro and Trijicon MRO. For the Trijicon ACOG, Gunexpert makes a steel mount with an offset Picatinny base.
Mounts for other CZ guns
For the CZ 457 you can use the Vector Optics universal mount, which fits the dovetail directly, without a rail. It accepts the Trijicon RMR, Shield RMSc, Leupold DPP and Docter footprints. For the Vz 61 Skorpion, Ascalon Arms makes a mount for the Holosun K-series footprint with a Picatinny or M-Lok interface underneath. It does not interfere with the original silencer.
Installation
A dovetail mount replaces your rear sight. You can fit it at home if you have a sight pusher, or a vice and a soft punch.
- Unload the pistol and remove the slide.
- Push the rear sight out of the dovetail.
- Push the mount into the dovetail, straight and centred.
- Tighten the fixing screws of the mount.
- Screw the red dot onto the mount and zero it.
Two tools make this easier. The Toni System installation tool helps you knock the mount in at a straight 90 degree angle. The brass Eemann Tech installation tool protects the slide and the mount from scratches. If you no longer need the front sight, the Angry Bear front sight filler closes its dovetail.

Frequently asked questions
Can I put a red dot on my CZ if it is not Optics Ready?
Yes. A red dot mount replaces the rear sight in its dovetail. You need no milling.
Can I install a red dot mount on my CZ at home?
Yes, if you have a sight pusher or a vice and a soft punch.
- Push the rear sight out of the dovetail.
- Push the mount in, straight and centred.
- Tighten the fixing screws and screw on the red dot.
An installation tool helps you keep the mount straight.
Which red dots will fit a red dot mount on my CZ?
It depends on the mount you choose. Mounts for CZ pistols are made for the Trijicon RMR, Shield RMSc, Holosun K-series, Leupold DPP, Docter and C-More RTS footprints. Choose your red dot first, find its footprint, then take a mount with the same footprint.
My CZ is Optics Ready. Do I need a red dot mount?
No. On an Optics Ready CZ the red dot sits on an Optics Ready plate in the slide cut.
